Sandra Barnes
Sandra Barnes found SUCCESS at TownsendWorks!
Sandra was a Special Education Bus Attendant with the Cleveland Board of Education when she was injured on the
job. Sandra was not able to return to her old position and
began working with Teri Guerin at Intervention Plus, Inc. and Joe Ortenzi at Skills Enrichment Group, Inc.
Sandra upgraded her computer and clerical skills at the Townsend Learning Center, gaining proficiency in Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. She was able to refresh her keyboarding speed and to participate in group projects that demonstrated her leadership qualities. The program helped
to provide Sandra with a renewed self-confidence as she faced the job market.
Coupled with Sandra's non-profit volunteer experience, her desire to continue working with children led her to her current position as an Adoption Navigator for Adopt Cuyahoga's Kids Program of the Adoption Network Cleveland. Sandra enjoys helping each child find a new loving family.
